On Thursday, 16th July 2026, AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa, represented by Bruno Backes, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐕𝐄𝐓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞; Mercy Kathuku, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 – 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝟒 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 (𝐀𝐒𝟒𝐆) 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚; and Caleb Kiprotich, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 – 𝐕𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 visited the Kenya Red Cross Training Institute for a productive discussion on strengthening pathways for labour mobility to Germany.

 

The delegation had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Monica Orero, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥; Mr. Geoffrey Mwai, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬; and Mr. Muhsin Dahir, Partnership Coordinator, a dedicated team committed to equipping Kenyans with world-class skills.

 

The discussions focused on how AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa and the Kenya Red Cross Training Institute can collaborate to align training standards, expand opportunities for skilled Kenyan professionals in the German labour market, and build sustainable institutional bridges between Kenya and Germany.

 

There is tremendous potential in this partnership, and this is only the beginning.
