AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa – TanzaniaBranch was represented by Dorcas Parsalaw, 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 – 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚, and Pendo Ringo, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫 – 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝟒 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 (𝐀𝐒𝟒𝐆), at the workshop titled “𝐸𝑛ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 – 𝐵𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎 𝑇𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑇𝑎𝑥 𝐸𝑛𝑣𝑖𝑟𝑜𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑃𝑟𝑖𝑣𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑜𝑟”, organized by GIZ Tanzania and EAC in collaboration with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).

 

The workshop brought together TRA, development partners, and private sector representatives to discuss regulatory and administrative matters affecting tax compliance, business operations, and the overall investment environment in Tanzania.

The Guest of Honour was TRA Commissioner General Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda. Official remarks were also delivered by Dr. Ephrahim Mdee, Director of Research and Planning at TRA; Ms. Julia V. M. Kronberg, Head of Cooperation, Tanzania and East African Community, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany; CPA Mercy Philipo from the Tanzania Private Sector Federation (TPSF), and Mr. Vincent Minja, President of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce TNCC.

 

Discussions focused on regulatory clarity, tax administration processes, audit and dispute resolution mechanisms, stakeholder engagement, and practical measures to strengthen collaboration between TRA and the private sector.

 

The engagement highlighted the importance of continued dialogue and coordinated reforms in supporting a more transparent, predictable, and business-friendly tax environment in Tanzania.
