AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa was proud to actively contribute to the high-level Kenyan delegation visit to Germany, led by IRENE KARARI of the State Department for Diaspora Affairs | Kenya and strongly supported by the strategic partnership and initiative of the IHK Nürnberg für Mittelfranken. The visit marked another important step in strengthening 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 between Kenya and Germany.

A key milestone of the visit was the signing of a Letter of Intent between the State Department for Diaspora Affairs | Kenya, IHK Nürnberg für Mittelfranken, JobsinGermany.net, and AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa. This agreement highlights the shared commitment to develop transparent, fair, and demand-driven pathways for skilled labour migration and confirms AHK Eastern Africa’s role as an implementing and connecting institution between industry, government, and training stakeholders in both countries.

Throughout the programme, the delegation engaged with a wide range of German partner institutions that play a central role in the skilled migration ecosystem. These included the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), IHK FOSA – Foreign Skills Approval, the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Gesundheit, Pflege und Prävention, the Bavarian State Office for Care, the Central Office for the Immigration of Skilled Workers (ZSEF), the Bayerischer Landtag, the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie, the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠, the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, the Skilled Labour Committee of the IHK, representatives of the Kenyan diaspora community in Germany, as well as German companies, chambers of skilled crafts (HWK), and international recruitment partners who are directly involved in implementing labour mobility pathways.

A particularly symbolic moment of the visit was the reception at the Federal Employment Agency, which honoured the delegation by raising the Kenyan national flag – a strong and visible sign of the growing strategic partnership between both countries.

AHK Eastern Africa remains committed to translating this political and institutional cooperation into practical solutions for companies, training institutions, and skilled professionals, strengthening sustainable labour mobility between Kenya and Germany.
