On 19 January, 2026, AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa and Tholander Ablufttechnik GmbH - Germany’s leading expert in industrial odour control, VOC abatement, and exhaust air purification, hosted a high‑value forum in Nairobi focused on air pollution prevention and elimination. The event brought together private sector leaders, public stakeholders, financiers, and innovators.
To set the scene, informative inputs were provided by representatives from the National Environment Management Authority - KE (NEMA), with Mr. Jilani Chigulu speaking on behalf of Mr. DAVID ONGARE; the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), with remarks from Dr. Kinyanjui J. Koimbori, PhD represented by Mr. John Muturi; and the German Investment Corporation (DEG), represented by Ms. Hanna Dohrenbusch. George Warutere of AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa moderated the forum.
Discussions highlighted the challenges industries face in meeting environmental standards as well as the significant opportunities that arise when public and private actors collaborate.
