During the recent visit of Ms. Dagmar von Bohnstein, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa, the African Skills 4 Germany (AS4G) project had the pleasure of visiting AfriCraft Tanzania and learning more about their inspiring work.
AfriCraft Tanzania is an initiative that combines craftsmanship, recycling, creative production, and practical skills development. Through its work, AfriCraft demonstrates how locally available materials and hands-on skills can be transformed into useful and creative products, while also contributing to sustainability and livelihood opportunities.
The visit was particularly relevant to AS4G’s focus on crafts and skilled trades, which are among the project’s priority areas. AfriCraft Tanzania’s work highlights the importance of practical skills, handwork, innovation, and sustainable production in creating meaningful employment and economic opportunities.
The exchange also provided valuable insights into how hands-on skills can support workforce readiness, skills development, and future career pathways both locally and internationally.
