We’re thrilled to announce that last week, the Bavarian Office for East Africa was officially opened by Bavarian Vice Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Tobias Gotthardt who was accompanied by a Bavarian delegation that visited Kenya and Tanzania. The focus of the trip was on environmental technologies and the food industry. Throughout the trip, the Vice Minister and his delegation engaged in key discussions with officials from the Ministries of Trade, Agriculture, and Water in both countries, along with leaders from academia and industry. Together, they are building connections that will drive mutual growth and foster new possibilities for both Bavaria and EastAfrica.

A particularly inspiring highlight was the visit to the H2Grow hydroponics initiative by the World Food Programme in Kibera, and SHOFCO, which provides access to clean water for 200,000 residents in Kibera, Africa’s largest urban slum.
