The Energy Trade Mission on Regional Grid Integration and Resilient Grid Infrastructure kicked off in Nairobi on 15 June 2026, bringing together German energy companies, Kenyan stakeholders, and development partners. Organized by AHK Eastern Africa in collaboration with RENAC and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the initiative focuses on advancing sustainable energy solutions, strengthening grid systems, and expanding charging infrastructure in East Africa. The mission fosters dialogue, partnerships, and business opportunities to support the region’s clean energy transition and infrastructure resilience

On Monday, 15th June 2026, AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa was pleased to kick off the Energy Trade Mission on 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞) in Nairobi, Kenya in collaboration with Renewables Academy (RENAC) and supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) bringing together seven German energy companies, Kenyan stakeholders, development partners, and industry experts to discuss opportunities for advancing sustainable energy solutions in East Africa.

 

We were delighted to have welcoming remarks from the German Embassy, H.E Alexander Fierley, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy Nairobi and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Eng. George Nyongayo, Assistant Director Renewable Energy at the State Department for Energy
A special thanks George Aluru, CEO of the Electricity Sector Association of Kenya (ESAK) who provided valuable insights on the opportunities and challenges surrounding renewable energy, grid infrastructure, and charging infrastructure in Kenya.
