What a fantastic experience attending KaribuKiliFair2026, East Africa’s largest tourism fair!

The event brought together tourism professionals, tour operators, lodges, suppliers, investors, creatives, and visitors from across the region and beyond. From insightful panel discussions and productive B2B meetings to vibrant entertainment, arts, food, and drinks, the fair once again showcased the diversity and strength of Tanzania’s tourism industry.

As AHK Tanzania, we were delighted to reconnect with long-standing partners, meet new business contacts, and explore exciting opportunities for collaboration.

A few highlights from the event:

🇩🇪 The German Bratwurst stand was certainly not to be missed!

🤝 A pleasure reconnecting with Tom Kunkler, Co-Founder of KiliFair, together with his long-standing partner Dominik Shoo.

🎓 We also had a valuable exchange with representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and the National College of Tourism (NCT) on the African Skills 4 Germany (AS4G) project and opportunities to support skills development in the tourism and hospitality sector.

🏫 Another inspiring stop was the Africa Amini Secondary School in Sustainable Tourism, a German-founded institution making a valuable contribution to skills development in Tanzania. The school combines the national secondary education curriculum with practical, skills-based vocational training aligned with VETA standards, helping to equip young people with both academic knowledge and hands-on competencies that enhance their employability and future career opportunities.

♻️ Sustainability was also strongly represented. Organizations such as Africraft, OKOTA, and Chako Zanzibar showcased innovative approaches to waste management, recycling, and the circular economy, highlighting the important role of the Blue and Green Economy in shaping a sustainable future for Tanzania’s tourism sector.

A warm thank you to the organizers, exhibitors, and visitors who made this event such a success. We are already looking forward to the next edition!
