The Forum Air Quality (Engineering Focus) marked the final event of the three-day series of discussions, exchanges, and insights organized by Tholander Ablufttechnik GmbH and the AHK Eastern Africa - Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa in Nairobi. This forum brought together 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 for an in‑depth discussion on Kenya’s path toward cleaner, healthier air with a focus on engineering. With presentations from Eng. Margaret Ogai, CEO/Registrar, Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), Anvar Joseph Alot, representing Eng. Shammah Kiteme, CE, FIEK, PMP® from The Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), and a diverse spectrum of practitioners, the session provided a practical and forward‑looking platform to connect challenges with the respective innovations and engineering solutions.

 

The conversations highlighted the pivotal role that engineering expertise plays in addressing air quality challenges, whether through better industrial process design, improved emission monitoring, or the adoption of modern mitigation technologies. Participants explored how updated standards, better compliance frameworks, and technology‑driven approaches could strengthen air‑quality management across sectors.
