The Bavarian ICT Delegation had the privilege of visiting Octavia Carbon, a trailblazing Kenyan start-up and the ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐กโ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ซ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ (๐๐๐) ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฒ. Since its inception, Octavia Carbon has positioned itself at the cutting edge of climate technology, uniquely leveraging Kenyaโs renewable energy to capture carbon dioxide directly from the air for secure underground storage.

The visit featured welcome remarks by Martin Freimรผller, Co-Founder & CEO of Octavia Carbon, followed by insights from Markus Dr. Wittmann, ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฅ, ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ง ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ, ๐๐๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ, who emphasized Bavariaโs commitment to climate innovation. Octavia Carbon then presented its pioneering work on commissioning the worldโs second Direct Air Capture and geological storage plant, highlighting how Kenyaโs vast geothermal and renewable resources provide a unique advantage for scaling such technologies. The session concluded with engaging discussions between the Bavarian delegation and Octavia Carbonโs team on cross-border collaboration opportunities in green technology, ICT integration, and research partnerships.
