The Bavarian Representative for East Africa 𝐌𝐬 Dagmar von Bohnstein wrapped up an intensive and inspiring business trip to Tanzania, accompanied by the Deputy Representative George Warutere, and one thing is clear:
👉 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 — 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
Over the past days, we had the privilege to engage with an impressive group of leaders shaping Tanzania – German investment, industrial, and development landscape, including:
✅Maximilian Müller, Ambassador of Germany to Tanzania
✅Vanessa Eidt, Director, KfW Office for Tanzania & EAC
✅Anne Hahn, Country Director GIZ Tanzania and EAC, and Helene Mleinek, Portfolio Management Unit
✅George Mukono, Director of Investment Promotion, Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority, Leodegar Tenga, Executive Director, Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI)
✅JAIDEEP GOEL, CEO, SanlamAllianz General Insurance Tanzania

What stood out across all conversations was a shared realism:
✔️ Tanzania offers 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
✔️ Challenges exist — regulatory complexity, financing gaps, infrastructure constraints
✔️ But with 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬, 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠‑𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, these challenges are 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞
Tanzania rewards those who come prepared, patient, and committed. Success here is not about quick wins — it’s about 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭, 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞.
Many thanks to all our hosts and partners for the openness, insights, and constructive dialogue. This trip reinforced why Tanzania remains a 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲.
