AHK Services Eastern Africa Ltd., the service entity of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa, in cooperation with SBS systems for business solutions, will organise a business development trip to Kenya from 26 to 30 May 2025. The delegation will comprise German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in food processing, packaging, and storage technologies.

Implemented under the Market Development Programme for SMEs (MEP) by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), this initiative is designed to support German companies in identifying and establishing long-term business partnerships within Kenya’s growing food sector.

Background
Kenya’s food industry is one of the most dynamic in the region, driven by a growing retail sector, rising consumer demand, and investment in agro-processing. Agriculture contributes approximately 33 percent to the country’s GDP and employs more than 40 percent of the population. In this context, the demand for efficient and high-performance food processing, packaging, and storage technologies continues to increase.

Objective
The objective of the business development trip is to connect German technology providers with Kenyan stakeholders across the food and agro-processing value chain — including manufacturers, distributors, government agencies, and industry associations — to facilitate knowledge exchange, business matchmaking, and sustainable market entry.

Programme Highlights

  • A sector-specific conference in Nairobi offering insights into Kenya’s legal framework, market trends, and investment opportunities
  • Individual B2B meetings between German companies and potential Kenyan partners
  • Provision of a pre-prepared market study on Kenya’s food processing and packaging sector
  • Technical presentations and discussions with leading local stakeholders
  • AHK Services Eastern Africa Ltd. brings proven expertise and extensive regional networks to ensure effective facilitation and value for all participants.
