Concerning: Call for Expression of Interest on Designing a Report for the WEEE Value Chain in Kenya

We cordially invite you to an expression of interest for the following project:
Project description: This project involves a study report on WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment), The research is nearly complete, and we currently hold the raw content, which includes text, graphics, infographics, info boxes, footnotes, and tables. The final report is expected to be a maximum of 80 pages and the final deliverable should be a visually appealing and well-structured report; there is no fixed design template, allowing room for creative direction aligned with the subject matter. Potentially, the design may have to follow guidelines for “Barrierefreiheit” (= Digital accessibility) which will be published by our client and forwarded to the designer. All design and formatting work will follow guidelines as agreed upon with the client at the start of the assignment.
Scope of Work
We are seeking an experienced Kenyan-registered graphic‐designer subcontractor—individual or company—with ability to issue an ETR-compliant invoice; Proven experience in designing visually engaging publications, such as reports or magazines; Skills in design and printing
Timeline of the project: The assignment is scheduled to run from 1st May to 22nd May 2025, with a tight delivery timeframe. This period includes at least three (3) feedback loops and up to two (2) in-person meetings to align the design with the client’s expectations and ensure timely delivery of the final product.
Tasks and responsibilities: The subcontractor would be expected to deliver on the following tasks and as may be agreed but within the scope area of the assignment:
To undertake the design, formatting and production of the full research report (80-pages) by converting the data into more visual data ensuring text sections are concise, complemented by graphs, pie charts, and tables wherever possible to convey data visually
- Professionally manage all footnotes, citations, and quotations, ensuring consistency and clarity throughout the report.
- Create a visually engaging, conference-ready PowerPoint presentation (approximately 15 slides)
- Print 10 high-quality copies of the finalized report.
- Design and print 1 dummy book to be showcased during the launch event.
Eligibility & Qualifications: Applicants must demonstrate
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in designing research or reports with proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (or equivalent)
- A portfolio of at least two (2) comparable projects delivered in the last five years
- Capacity to meet the Client’s delivery timeline
- Own laptop and own license for a professional design software
