Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Kenya (AHK Kenya) recently had the pleasure of visiting Selecta one Kenya GmbH & Co: KG, a shining example of successful German entrepreneurship in Eastern Africa.

This visit followed the recent Africa Round Table on Kenya, hosted by the IHK Region Stuttgart, where our Delegate, Dr. Monika Erath, engaged with renowned enterprises from Baden-Württemberg as Selecta one with Torsten Mundus as their Director of Production. They shared together insights on the region's current economic landscape and explored avenues for enhanced cooperation. Thanks to Barbara Effenberger and Thomas Bittner for their unwavering support in strengthening bilateral relations with Africa.

One such standout company is Selecta one, a family business from 𝐁𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧-𝐖𝐮̈𝐫𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲. For over 26 years, Selecta has successfully operated in Kenya and Uganda, cultivating a wide range of flower and herb seedlings for global export. Across 53 hectares only at three Kenyan sites and another one in Uganda, the company employs more than 3,000 staff only in Kenya and grows over 100 different varieties—all made possible by ideal climatic conditions and a skilled local workforce.

Congratulations to Selecta one on your remarkable achievements. We value and look forward to deepening our collaboration.

Many thanks to Virginia Gitonga and her team in Juja for the warm reception extended to Denis Börner and our Delegate during the visit.
