Did you know that startups in Kenya and EasternAfrica contribute approximately 40% of GDP and account for over 80% of employment? Kenya, often referred to as the "Silicon Savannah," is a regional hub for startups, particularly in the fintech, agritech, and edtech sectors. This vibrant ecosystem is driving innovation and transforming lives!
At Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa (AHK Eastern Africa), we understand the vital role local entrepreneurship ecosystems play in fostering growth and innovation. Recently, during the German-African Business Summit (GABS) 2024 we organized the StartupLounge in collaboration with German Accelerator (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action hashtag#BMWK), creating a platform to connect and empower startups.
A few days ago, we had the chance to participate with our Delegate Dr. Monika Erath and our colleague from Germany Trade & Invest Carsten Ehlers at the official opening of the Westerwelle Startup Haus Mombasa with German Amb. Sebastian Groth.
Westerwelle Startup Haus Mombasa is part of the global Westerwelle Foundation, founded in 2013 by Dr. Guido Westerwelle and Ralph Dommermuth.
Congratulations on this honourable initiative!
